The skin is the largest organ of the body, covering about 2 m2 of the body’s surface. The optimal pH value of skin on our face and body lies between 4.7 and 5.75. A pH of 7 (pure water) is neutral. Anything below 7 is acidic, and above is alkaline. Therefore, the skin’s natural pH is mildly acidic.
BENEFITS OF PLATEAU ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL:
Hydration is essential for soft and elastic skin. Lack of hydration can be a problem during extreme weather or as skin ages. Rose oil contains essential fatty acids, such as linoleic and linolenic acid. Fatty acids help to keep cell walls strong so that they do not lose water. The many fatty acids in rose oil make it an excellent option for hydrating dry, itchy skin. The skin also quickly absorbs the oil, allowing its antioxidants to enter deep into the skin’s layers.
2. MOISTURIZER (lock in skin’s natural hydration)
3. EXFOLIATE AND MAKES THE SKIN BRIGHTER
Natural exfoliation with rose oil can help reduce dullness and leave the skin glowing and vibrant. Rose oil is high in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A, or retinol, encourages skin cells to replenish. Vitamin C aids in cell regeneration, boosting overall radiance.
4. BOOST COLLAGEN FORMATION
Collagen is the building block of skin. It is essential for skin elasticity and firmness. The body naturally makes less collagen as it ages. Rose oil is rich in vitamins A and C. They are both necessary for collagen production. Rose inhibits the creation of MMP-1, an enzyme that breaks down collagen in the body.
5. REDUCES INFLAMMATION
Rose is rich in polyphenols and anthocyanin, which help reduce skin inflammation. It also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant known for its anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, rose oil may help calm irritation resulting from skin disorders such as rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis.
6. PROTECTION AGAINST SUN DAMAGE
Cumulative damage from a lifetime of exposure to the sun plays a significant role in premature aging. UV exposure can also interfere with the body’s ability to produce collagen. Rose oil contains antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E. These vitamins have synergistically combat visible sun damage. They may also help prevent photoaging.
7. REDUCES HYPERPIGMENTATION
Rose oil is rich in vitamin A. Vitamin A comprises several nutritional compounds, including retinoids. Retinoids are known for their ability to reduce hyperpigmentation and other visible signs of aging with regular use. Rose oil also contains both lycopene and beta carotene. These ingredients have skin-lightening properties, making them staple ingredients in many skin-lightening products.
8. REDUCE SCARS AND FINE LINES
Rose oil is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, integral for tissue and cell regeneration. The recommendation is to be used for at least 12 weeks to see the effects on scars and fine lines.
9. BOOST IMMUNITY
Rose oil is rich in antioxidants and polyunsaturated fatty acids, like linoleic acid, essential for preventing the breakdown of cell membranes in the skin. Vital, healthy cells act as a barrier to prevent bacteria from invading the skin, leading to outbreaks and infections.
