Retreat Terms & Conditions

All persons wishing to make a booking have carefully read and understand the Terms and Conditions that follow. By making a booking with Shaolin Warrior Training Center (SWTC), you accept on behalf of yourself and all those named on the booking, to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. A booking is accepted and becomes definite only from the date when Shaolin Warrior Training Center sends a confirmation email, and when you have completed the deposit payment.

A representative will contact you within 48 hours, regarding your completed registration to confirm your participation in your selected retreat. Confirmation of your participation does not necessarily mean that your trip is confirmed to run. Shaolin Warrior Training Center asks that you refrain from purchasing non-refundable travel until you receive an email confirmation from the Shaolin Warrior Training Center staff. In order for our retreats to take place we require a minimum of 5 participants.

**Please note that Shaolin Warrior Training Center only offers retreats and related activities to those 18 years of age and over.


Deposits and Payments

By Completing and Submitting the Booking Form, Future Attendees agree and bind themselves to the following Payment Structure.

  1. A non-refundable 50% deposit due immediately.
  2. Final payment of remaining balance is due no later than 45 days Before retreat start date.

Failure to pay remaining balance by the noted date is cause for cancellation of booking and forfeiture of deposit.

Payments can be made via secure PayPal Payment page provided via email.



Cancellation is allowed 60 days or more prior to the retreat start date, less the non-refundable 50% deposit which serves as the cancellation fee. Partial refunds may be requested for amounts paid after the deposit.

No refunds of any kind are issued for cancellations after 60 days. However, the option to transfer funds to book another, future retreat is allowed. This retreat must fall within one (1) year of cancellation, take place a minimum of 90 days after time of cancellation, and be of equal value. Funds may be transferred to a retreat with higher cost, with remaining balance due 60 days before retreat start date.

Transfer of funds to another attendee is not allowed at any time.


Cancellation by Attendee

Request for cancellation must be submitted in writing, sent via email. All requests are subject to the conditions above.

In the event of cancellation due to natural disaster, Shaolin Warrior Training Center adheres to the “act of God” policy and no refunds will be issued.


Cancellation by Shaolin Warrior Training Center

We enter into the agreement to provide our retreats to attendees under the agreed upon terms in good faith. However, should a retreat be cancelled by Shaolin Warrior Training Center, attendees will be informed no later than 30 days before the retreat start date.

Under these conditions, Attendees are allowed:

  • The option to transfer funds towards another already scheduled retreat within 1 year.
  • The option for full refund of fees paid to Shaolin Warrior Training Center.

Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no responsibility or liability for incidental expenses or consequential losses incurred due to booking. These include but are not limited to: airfare and travel expenses, visa expenses, baggage fees, and alternative accommodations.



All prices shown are in United States Dollars (USD).

Shaolin Warrior Training Center is not responsible for any fees charged to the attendee by third parties in regard to transactions; exchange rate fees, additional taxes, bank or credit card fees and the like. Attendees assume full responsibility for these incurred charges.

Our fees are applicable only to items delineated in the retreat package.

Our fees DO NOT include: cost of airfare/travel arrangements, transport, travel and travel medical insurance, baggage fees, excess baggage fees, food or drink not included in the package, alternative accommodations or additional excursions.


Medical Conditions, Limitations and Special Needs

Attendees are required to inform Shaolin Warrior Training Center of any medical or dietary conditions, limitations or restrictions at the time of Booking. These include but are not limited to food allergies, pregnancy, heart conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes or mental illness. Attendees must also disclose all current medications.

Failure to disclose the above may result in refusal or denial of attendee to participate in some or all retreat activities as well as forfeiture of ALL funds paid.

The safety of attendees during a retreat is of utmost importance to Shaolin Warrior Training Center. It is crucial that attendees be forthcoming and accurate with all conditions as they relate to fitness and overall health. Providing the most accurate information in regard to physical and mental health is the sole responsibility of the attendee. Attendees are responsible for informing Shaolin Warrior Training Center of changes or discrepancies to their medical condition from the time of Booking to their departure for the retreat. Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no liability for death, injury, illness or other incident related to inaccuracy or omission of health conditions.

Shaolin Warrior Training Center will use the above information to make adjustments to courses of training, meals and other activities in an attempt to maximize enjoyment and participation of attendees with special conditions. However, Shaolin Warrior Training Center reserves the right to refuse an attendee with certain conditions, and takes no responsibility or liability in cases where provisions and adjustments for medical or special needs can not be made.

Medical Insurance is required of all attendees, and all attendees will be required to submit insurance information as well as emergency contact information.

In the case of illness or injury during the retreat, Shaolin Warrior Training Center will do its best to bring the attendee to a proper medical facility. Attendees should be aware that medical treatment standards and regulation vary from country to country. Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no responsibility or liability for the care/treatment provided at health care and medical facilities, and makes no guarantees or warranty of treatment provided there.


Travel and Medical Insurance

Attendees are required to have valid medical insurance during the retreat. Attendees will receive further information regarding submission of insurance information as well as emergency contact information after booking confirmation. Medical Insurance should also include coverage of emergency transport. Payment of all health and medical items including but not limited to attendees treatment, medication and transportation are otherwise the sole responsibility of the attendee. Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no responsibility or liability of attendees medical and health related fees.

Shaolin Warrior Training Center highly recommends Travel Insurance. Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no responsibility or liability for:

  • Loss, damage or theft of any attendee’s property
  • Fees, inconvenience or inability to attend the retreat due to transportation issues including but not limited to: flight cancellation, flight delay, or denial of entry into a connection country

By Booking, the attendee acknowledges that the cost of both Medical and Travel insurances are not included in the retreat fee, and are the sole responsibility of the attendee. Attendees also accept the responsibility of accurately informing insurance carriers of the nature of the retreat and accept liability for expenses not covered by the attendee’s insurance policy.


Travel Documents

After Booking and Payment of Deposit, an Invitation Letter will be provided to the attendee unless deemed unnecessary. Invitation letters are commonly required to apply for visas to enter China.

It is the sole responsibility of attendees to ensure all appropriate travel documents respective to their country of origin are ready in time for travel. These include but are not limited to: visas, valid passports (expiration dates valid 6 months after final day of retreat), permits, certificate (ie vaccination), and other documents relevant to their travel and entry to China. Attendees accept the responsibility for the care and protection of these documents en route, during, and returning from the retreat. Shaolin Warrior Training Centers accepts no responsibility or liability for loss, damage or theft of these documents.

Shaolin Warrior Training Center will ensure timely confirmation of retreats to allow attendees time to acquire these documents. Any information provided by Shaolin Warrior Training Center should be considered a courtesy and informational. Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no responsibility or liability for errors or omission in any information provided. This includes but is not limited to individual country’s document processing timelines, visas and vaccinations. Attendees accept sole responsibility and liability for having/attaining required documents for their respective country of origin and informing their country’s embassy of their travel plans.


Attendee Responsibility

Travel to China

Attendees acknowledge that they are traveling as guests to another country (China), and that the political climate, culture and environment may be drastically different from their home country. By Booking, attendees agree to adhere to local legislation and cultural customs as well as acknowledge that they have considered possible dangers, risks, physical and environmental challenges, and other important factors related to travel to China. Attendees accept full responsibility and liability for consequences caused by their failure to adhere to local legislation and culture. Shaolin Warrior Training Center accepts no responsibility or liability for the above described.


Temple Conduct

Attendees are also responsible for adhering to Shaolin Temple Yunnan’s rules of conduct while within the temple complex. These rules are detailed here. These include but are not limited to: no public displays of affection with members of the opposite sex, no sexual acts, no entering rooms of the opposite sex (this includes dating or married couples), no use of drugs or alcohol of any kind, conducting oneself with dignity, respecting monks and trainees residing at the temple, and respecting fellow retreat attendees.

By Booking, attendees agree to the above and acknowledge that failure to adhere to Shaolin Temple Yunnan’s rules of conduct may result in early termination of their retreat without refund and expulsion from the Temple Complex. Attendees accept responsibility and liability for all consequent expenses and legal action against them for their failure to adhere to Chinese Law and Shaolin Temple Yunnan’s rules of conduct.



Safety of attendees, instructors and staff is of utmost importance to Shaolin Warrior Training Center. Attendees only conduct training and courses under Trained Professionals. However, the safety of an attendee is their sole responsibility. Attendees must agree to the Shaolin Warrior Training Center’s rules and guidelines as well as sign a waiver of liability in order to begin training.

We reserve the right to prohibit, restrict or otherwise deny participation at any point of a client deemed in our opinion to conduct themselves in a way that is dangerous or poses a threat to themselves or others. Shaolin Warrior Training Center staff hold sole discretion and reserve the right to final decision in regard to these matters including and especially when it pertains to the safety of other attendees.

By Booking, attendees agree that if deemed dangerous or unfit by staff, they waive their right to refund and are subject to expulsion from temple grounds.


Waiver of Photo and Video Rights

Shaolin Warrior Training Center staff and other participants may take photo and video of attendees during the retreat. Shaolin Warrior Training Center reserves the right to use images and videos to create marketing materials for use in our website, emails, social media or other media. Attendees must submit written request to exclude their image and likeness from these materials. Otherwise, Shaolin Warrior Training Center reserves the right to perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes.


Itinerary Changes

Shaolin Warrior Training Center and its vendors/affiliates reserve the right to alter retreat programs and itineraries due to weather, road conditions or other circumstances. These programs may be changed or cancelled at any moment due the trip to assure the safety of our attendees and staff. No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights or other services because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in schedules or other similar causes. SWTC and its vendors/affiliates do not assume responsibility for accidents or deaths that can be traced to the participants’ negligence, acts of third parties or exterior circumstances such as weather, natural occurrences, ware or other similar causes.


Data Protection

To ensure that retreats run smoothly, Shaolin Warrior Training Center may need to use personal information (such as name, address, passport number, date of birth, special needs, health conditions, dietary requirements etc.) provided by Attendees to SWTC, and also pass on such information to vendors/affiliates providing service during the retreat or emergency medical professionals. SWTC will apply appropriate security measures to protect such personal data and will only pass on data that is applicable to those providing services directly to retreat attendees or emergency medical care. By Booking, attendees consent to this information being transferred as required.



Shaolin Warrior Training Center is not responsible for any improper or non-performance of any services forming included in this agreement which are wholly attributable to the fault of the attendee, the unforeseeable or unavoidable act or omission of a third party unconnected with the provision of any services to be provided under the agreement; unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of SWTC and/or the relevant vendor/affiliate, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised including (but not limited to) an event of force majeure; or any event which SWTC and/or the relevant vendor/affiliate could not even with all due care have foreseen or forestalled.

In the event that Shaolin Warrior Training Center is responsible for any death, injury or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of its vendors/affiliates of services which form part of the agreement then Shaolin Warrior Training Center limits its liability.


Acceptance of Risk

The Attendee acknowledges the nature of the retreat includes regular and possibly rigorous physical activity relevant to any martial arts training environment and its respective risks. By Booking, attendees assume all risk and waive all liability of Shaolin Warrior Training Center from all claims and causes of action arising from any damages or injuries or death resulting from these inherent risks. In order to attend and participate in the retreat, the Attendee must sign a waiver of liability and related documents agreeing to the assumption of above risk.



In the event that any term or condition contained herein is unenforceable or void by operation of law or as being against public policy or for any other reason than such term or condition shall be deemed to be severed from this Agreement or amended accordingly only to such extent necessary to allow all remaining Terms and Conditions to survive and continue as binding.


Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of KUNMING, YUNNAN PROVINCE, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.

These Booking Terms and Conditions may only be waived or amended by written mutual consent. When an attendee completes, submits and makes the payment for booking their place for a retreat, they agree to accept all these conditions, and when the booking is accepted, Shaolin Warrior Training Center agrees to carry out the obligations as defined therein.


Updating of Terms and Conditions

Shaolin Warrior Training Center reserves the right to update and/or alter these terms and conditions at any time, and it is the attendees responsibility to be familiar with them. The latest terms and conditions may be found on Shaolin Warrior Training Center’s website, shaolintemple.com.
