The Sugar Temple Festival took place inside the Tuzhu Temple where our students have the living quarters. The Venerable Abbot of the Shaolin Temple Kunming give his blessing for the students and masters to organize this event. At the event participated all our students, masters, monks and the Venerable Abbot, Grandmaster Shi Yanbei.

What does mean the Sugar Temple Festival? All the invites learned how to prepare marshmallow with biscuit chocolate – an american tradition. Students performed an act which they felt  comfortable and showed that our students have many talents: from hula hoop (Basil – USA), jugglery (Manuel – Germany and Greg – USA), Karate performance (Holly – Canada), singing (Inna – Germany, Caroline – France, Chris – Germany, Aswin – India), Kung Fu forms performance (George- Greece, Telo – Denmark, Frank and Daniel – USA), dancing (Daniel – Australia). Masters also showed their hidden talents in singing (Shifu Yanpeng and Shifu Yanjun), chanting Buddhist sutras and Kung Fu performance (Shifu Shi Yanjun).

Our younger students helped with organizing the party table and serving the older students. The evening ended up with bamboo dancing around the fire which is very traditional in this the area of Yunnan.

Was for everybody a night to remember. This festivity was also a way to say good buy to some of our students which ended their training time with us: Inna and Imo from Germany and little Tyler from Singapore. We would like to thank Tyler parents for making this trip possible for him : Su-ann and Phil. We hope to see them again in the future.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Venerable Abbot of the Sholin Temple Kunming, Gradmaster Shi Yanbei for making this event a very memorable day in our lives! We would like to thank Shifu Shi Yanjun for helping to organize the event and making our stay in the Sholin Temple a dear memory which will stay with us forever.
